When In Doubt

WHEN IN DOUBT, RUN IT BY ME

When in doubt, run it by me. Two screens are probably overkill, though.

When in doubt, run it by me. Two screens are probably overkill, though.

Ever look at an idea from your team or your agency and wish you could have a second opinion from someone who isn't shackled by office politics, doesn't have an agenda other than doing great work and knows a thing or two about advertising?

Here's an idea.

When in doubt, run it by me. I am a Forbes Contributor and Forbes asks me to apply a critical eye to modern advertising. Sometimes I get excited about a brilliant strategy, sometimes it's a creative idea, other times I marvel at fantastic evidence of a real brand idea. Here are some examples of my Forbes work:

I can't look at a piece of communication and not break it down in my head, reverse engineer the strategy or otherwise pick it apart. The process begins immediately and sometimes without my consent. I have spent decades in the advertising business because I can't get enough of this kind of work.

How about it?

I am offering a $500 service where I do what I do for Forbes, but do it for clients privately and in realtime over a web meeting. Specifically, I give you live reactions to your latest marketing moves and ideas.

For both agencies and clients alike, I offer reactions to new ad campaigns, video or TV spot edits, communications strategies, the way you're attacking marketing problems, some copy, or even to pressure-test proposed brand ideas.

For agencies, it's usually reactions to an upcoming pitch strategy, pitch idea or other pitch materials. It's really up to you how you use the time.

But I promise that you will get blunt, apolitical, agenda-free, strategic feedback that will either encourage you to move forward, provide you with ideas meant to make the work better, or both.

An honest-to-goodness, fresh off the press testimonial.

After six weeks of considering a new concept, we found ourselves rehashing the same approach, but an approach that did not generate universal support and energy. We were stuck. So, we reached out to Will and he listened to us, questioned us, and challenged the thought processes that led us to that point. After 90 minutes of open discussion, we left with a refocused vision that is generating energy and excitement. Will guided us through the doubts and into action.

When in doubt, run it by ME - web meeting

Just be forewarned, I talk with my hands a lot.

Just be forewarned, I talk with my hands a lot.

So here's how it works. You will probably be in a wild hurry to get feedback, so below is a link (in red) that will pop up an email to me with a pre-populated subject: "Need To Run It By Will." I have programmed my mobile devices and computer to stop my world when I get one of these emails. Bells will ring, lights will flash and the local fire department will blast its signal just in case I miss the bells and lights.

Let's just say I will get the message quickly.

And if I am able to, I will drop everything to have our session as near immediately as possible. Timing won't always work out,  but I'll do everything I can to make it work. Just click the link below to get the ball rolling.

Each session will last as long as it needs to, up to 2 hours. Some will be quick, some a little more complex. That's ok.

Because if you have any doubts, run it by me.
